He is an independent researcher and a journalist. He is the author of Gita Press and the Making of Hindu India that has won Ramnath Goenka Award, Shakti Bhatt first book award, Tata Prize, Crossword Prize and Atta Galatta Bangalore Literature Festival prize. Currently, a Homi Bhabha Fellow, he is working on the first English biography of eminent Hindi writer Sachchidanand Hiranand Vatsyayan Agyeya. A journalist for more than two decades, he has worked with The Times of India, The Hindustan Times, Pioneer and Asian Age.
