Ashwani Kumar is poet, author, and professor of Development Studies at Tata Institute of Social Sciences. Presently, he is Senior Fellow of Indian Council of Social Science Research. His poems, irreverential, whimsical and garbled voices of memory, have appeared in Indian Literature, Postcolonial Text, Indian Quarterly, Muse India, Little Magazine, International Gallerie, Dhauli Review, Tempevolgy and other journals. His anthology ‘My Grandfather’s Imaginary Typewriter’ was published by Yeti Books and the next collection ‘Banaras and Other Poems’ is anticipated soon. His non-fiction works include ‘Community Warriors’ (Anthem Press; London). At leisure, he writes articles and reviews for Financial Express, Business Standard, The Hindu, Indian Express and DNA, among others.
