She is an award-winning journalist and an author. Her stories and books for children and adults are published by leading publishing houses like Penguin, Bloomsbury, Harper Collins Kids, Scholastic, Puffin, Ladybird and Tulika. Gone Grandmother, a picture book for children, is being made into a contemporary puppet production. Growing Up in Pandupur, a collection of short stories for middle-grade kids, co-written with her sister Adithi Rao, is her most recent release. Coming soon is Music for Joshua, a picture book for 6+ children.
She is the Director of the Chandigarh Children’s Literature Festival, 2017. She teaches creative writing to children in the hope they might continue to find magic in ordinary things, well into adulthood.
