Jerry Pinto is a poet, journalist, writer and translator who lives in Mumbai. He teaches journalism at the SCMSophia department of the Sophia Polytechnic. He is an advisor to the Jehangir Sabavala Foundation, the Executive Secretary to Meljol and a trustee of the People’s Free Reading Room and Library. His novel Em and the Big Hoom has won the Crossword Prize for Fiction and the Hindu Lit for Life award. His latest book is a translation of Daya Pawar’s autobiography Baluta (Speaking Tiger).
